The garden at Village Green Retreat

About

Our Story

Ten years of welcoming guests to a little garden in Mae Pong

Hosts and team preparing fresh food in the garden kitchen

Meet your hosts

Ten years ago, we turned a patch of Mae Pong countryside into something the village didn't quite have before — a garden café and a place to stay that feels like home. What started as a few rooms has grown into 10 individually designed spaces, a kitchen that cooks from the garden, and a wellness offering rooted in Northern Thai tradition.

The team around them — the cooks, the gardeners, the massage therapists — are mostly local, and the retreat is woven into the life of the village. Come for the calm, stay for the warmth.

Our mission

A place to slow down and reconnect — with nature, with food, with each other

We believe in mindful living: eating what we grow, resting when we're tired, and treating guests the way Northern Thailand has always treated guests — generously. The retreat is our small invitation to a quieter, more connected way of being.

Mindful living

We grow what we serve, we cook slowly, and we waste little. The garden sets the pace.

Warm hospitality

Seven years of hosting — Lenny & Duhm and the team treat every guest like family.

Community first

We support a nearby children’s home and welcome volunteers who want to give back.

Reconnect with nature

Mountain views, rice fields, a koi pond and birdsong — the kind of quiet that resets you.
